Little bit of a mess... July 24, 2008 So I started using the Citikitty yesterday. I closely monitored my 11 month old cat, Milo. It took about 8 hours for him first to use it. I praised him and gave him a treat. About 5 minutes later he used it again and this time he pooed. He was scratching constantly trying to get everything covered. This created quite the mess on my bathroom floor. After that incident, I fill the bowl with very little cat litter(Maybe a 1/4 of an inch). This has solved most of the problem. Now there's only a little bit of litter that goes on the floor. With each stage this should get better as there will be less litter.
FABULOUS CUSTOMER SERVICE July 5, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My cat, DCI Barnaby, did well as we followed the "program" as outlined in the CitiKitty manual. Then, all of a sudden he started using the bathtub instead of the toilet. We had already progressed up to the removal of ring 4 ! What to do? The wonderful people at CitiKitty sent me a replacement so I was able to go back a couple of steps to get Barnaby more comfortable. Whew! I thought I would have to go back to a litter box, but Barnaby is back to doing his business on the toilet. He just needed to let me know that he wasn't ready for the next step. Thank you, CitiKitty!
Likely to work with cats other than mine July 1, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This toilet training seat is great. It's sturdy enough for my cat (even though he's relatively small), and my cat had no problem jumping up to use it. It's easy to remove and put back in, so it's quite convenient. However, I only have one bathroom and am not home enough to guide my cat. I became frustrated after about six months of training because it got in the way of me and guests using the bathroom. I abandoned the training, but it would likely work for others who are more patient.
Don't hesitate- try CitiKitty!! June 21, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have a smart, easy going kitten of 14 wks. At 12 wks I took her litter box away and replaced it w/ the toliet ring w/ litter. She used it immediately! We're on ring 2 now w/ no problems. Make sure you listen to your pet, dont rush the process. THIS is lightyrs better than a litter box- not 20% as smelly!!!!!!! That's what inspired me to try this. :) Two important tips: make sure the seat is taped up and she always has access to this toilet! We now call our beach cat CitiKitty!

HARD TO USE AND YOU MAY EVEN HURT YOURSELF June 17, 2008 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
Big problems with punching out the rings. Took me about 15 minutes and a pare of seazures to punch it out. And I cut myself in the sharp plastic edge. The perforation is not done all the way throught the plastic, so you really have to use something more then just a finger to punch it out. Maybe it worth it at the end but so fur I'm just mad and hurt. Really hard to clean, litter sticks to the plastic and it's just a mess. It's better to pay more for the better quality.
