Denosyl has been shown to increase hepatic glutathione levels in cats and dogs. 10-12 Glutathione is a potent antioxidant that protects hepatic cells from toxins and death. A recent analysis of 31 dogs and cats with various severe liver problems showed that 45% of these animals had low hepatic glutathione levels.13 Denosyl is recommended to improve hepatic glutathione levels in compromised patients to help maintain and protect liver function. Denosyl may also be used in other conditions of tissue oxidant injury and RBC fragility caused by certain toxins or drugs which are related to reduced glutathione concentrations.

Nutramax Denosyl for Cats April 5, 2008
This supplement was oringially prescribed by a vet for healthier feline liver function. My cat was suffering from Hepatic lipidosis and we almost lost her. The nutramax Denosyl helps her liver and keeps her from getting those little sores on her nose and ears. I plan on continuing her on the Denosyl along with the Marin for the rest of her life. I am so relieved that I can get both of these products on Amazon for almost half of was the vet cost.
