Sam's Veggie Rawhide chews are made of whole thick slabs of sweet potato, dehydrated. They have a hard surface, excellent for dental health, and a chewability that dogs love. Smaller breeds will chew these for fifteen to twenty five minutes. Medium to larger sized dogs will chew them faster, of course. Sam's Veggie Rawhide Chews are particularly well suited for senior dogs whose teeth and gums are more sensitive.

We've been looking for a vegetarian rawhide for our dogs and this is the best yet. Sure it doesn't last hours, but it gives them a good 10-15 minutes of hardcore chewing. My dogs love them and get excited at just the site of the bag. I just wish some local stores carried these so I didn't have to order them all the time.

My dog is allergic to beef, so I needed an alternative to rawhide and tendon chews. I tried these, and he loves them. I have not found them to be messy or gummy. I also love that they are made of real food (sweet potatoes), with no additives or fillers, and that they are made in the U.S. rather than China. They are not as long-lasting a chew as rawhide or tendons, however. If you are looking for a longer-term doggie pacifier, my recommendation would be a Zuke's Z-Ridge Edible Dental Chew Bone.

I cannot imagine what the other reviewer was thinking. These are the perfect, healthy treats for dogs of all breeds. My dogs love these and they make absolutely no mess at all.

These treats are gummy and if you have a long-haired dog, the yam gets all gummed up in their fur and then the dog needs a bath. I don't recommend these treats for any dog with long hair. Very messy!
