 Complete Waste of Money June 21, 2008
The Zone DOES NOT function at 10 feet as described. The unit we received barely worked at 2 feet. Additionally, the collar is way too big for a small dog.
Works with Cats also June 7, 2008
I have really liked my Innotek. I have recently brought a rescue cat into the house. My current Cat was constantly harrassing the new cat so we purchased and setup an area that the new cat could have as her own. It has worked very well.

This product has managed to keep my 85 lb male German Shepherd off the couch. He's 8 years old and had always been given couch privileges, but he had ruined one couch and so we got a new one. At first we let him on the new couch, but then we noticed that the fabric was starting to be torn and shredded (not purposely, just the result of him climbing on and off). At first we just put boxes on the couch. That was a pain because we had to move them every time we wanted to sit down (and remember to put them back). After six months of this, he would still get on the couch if he had the opportunity.
This device cured him of the problem quickly. I tested the shock on myself and while it is unpleasant, it's not going to cause lasting harm. I was hoping that a few weeks of wearing the collar would work, but he is smart enough to know that if he isn't wearing the collar that he can get on the couch painlessly.
The only issue I have had is that the batteries are sort of loose in the main unit. I ended up wrapping a rubber band around the batteries and their contacts to make it stay on.

The product worked great when i first set it up. Easy to use just two buttons on the control unit to increase or decrease the radius of coverage. These also serve to reprogram the unit to control different collars. The unit had been in operation for a few weeks when i noticed that it did not seem to be deterring my dog. I checked it and the range had suddenly decreased to about 1 cm!! I replace the batteries in both the control unit and the collar and even with the range set to max it only worked in a 1cm distance. The unit is being returned and I'm looking for another suitable replacement.
Pros: easy to set up and program. Simple and effective, easy to relocate.
Cons: only worked for a couple of weeks!

I bought this Innotek system for our new black lab that we adopted. He was given up because he destroyed and chewed up his previous owner's house. He would take things from the kitchen counter or the table and chew them up. He even figured out how to open the lazy susan cabinet(a bottom cabinet)! This product is great and now he won't go in the kitchen or take things from the counter.
