After 3 months' usage not a single flea or tick has hitched a ride on any of my dogs. They live in a rural environment and spend up to 12 hours a day outdoors in an oak savanna-prairie biome, daily encountering moles, fieldmice, rabbits, deer, turkeys, voles, woodchucks and foxes; they have agressively field-tested these collars! There has been no irritation or any diminished effectiveness from rain, digging (if you have a terrier you know all about that), or other environmental elements. The relatively strong odor is obvious from the Zema Dual Action collar but that tells me it really does afford protection to the entire dog, head-to-tail. I've stopped using ADVANTIX because my dogs simply don't need it any longer, and the Zema's price is laughingly affordable. The Airedales have not succeded in tearing them off of each other, either...also a plus if you have multiple dogs of the "sparring" sort. For all of these reasons I've recommended this product to every dog owner I know.

These are the best flea and tick collars I have ever used on my dogs. They work amazingly well and keep the dogs free of problems for about 6 months. I highly recommend them.
