Product Description This Innotek electronic dog collar is among the safest, most humane and effective training products you can buy. Used properly, the collar's electronic stimulation serves as a distraction that your dog will find undesirable. By obeying, your dog quickly learns to shut off the stimulation, thus gaining confidence in response to your commands. Like many of our training products, this collar has adjustable stimulation levels. This feature allows you to use the level that matches your dog's temperament.

I would give it 0 stars if I could March 28, 2007 I had the same problem with 2 of these collars. The rechargable battery in the collar only lasts for 7 days at the most. Innotek claims 2 months in the manual. After I had the problem with the first one I charged the second one for 24 hrs instead of the suggested 12, so that I was sure it had a sufficiant charge. Sure enough the battery was dead 7 days later (of which the dog only wore on 5 of those days). From there the charge time steadily dwindled down to 3 days before I gave up and returned the second unit as well. Don't waste your money.
Worth It October 11, 2006 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is the second time i am purchasing this item i have four dogs 3 are boxers. My first boxer got into the habbit of playing tag with me right before i go to work in the morning. I used it for one week and i never had to put it on him again i have two more and when they get bigger i will use it to train them. It is safe you can shock yourself on the hand and see that its just uncomfortable not hazzard.
Questionable Remote Durability April 13, 2006 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This "training" collar works relatively well if you are in line-of-sight, otherwise it's hit or miss ... and the 300-yard range that they claim is pretty ambitious. However, the major problem with this product is the durablity of the remote. I have owned this unit for about a year, and have nearly worn-out my second remote. The first remote was replaced by warranty (I bought it from another site).br /br /Filing a warranty claim was relatively easy and the replacement was sent within a week. However, the service rep I spoke with told me to keep all of the non-electronic components as back-ups for the entirely new unit they would be sending. It was a good thing that I did keep them, because they only returned the remote and unit.
Great for behavior problems but NOT for basic training! February 7, 2006 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
Great for correcting problems like jumping on people, chewing on things he shouldn't or jerking the leash from your hand and darting off. br /Not any good for training the basic commands.br /This unit has saved us from his escape attempt at the park after he jerked the leash from my hand, one press of the button and he laid down still until I got to him to pick up the leash. It stopped his jumping on people almost instantly. It has held up to his duck chasing swims in the lake (so far).br /Down side to this unit or those like it (shock collars), is that he seems to interpret all commands as "lay". He already knew the commands (sit, no, down, etc). Our problem was that we had to repeat the command a couple of times before he would give in and obey. If we use this collar, even on a low setting, he immediately lays on his belly regardless of the command. We actually had to reteach (without the collar) the commands. We still use the collar if we are expecting guests or are taking him out for a walk at the park, however, we do not use it at all for training commands.br /I would buy this again for those times he does act up and try to dart off or thinks we aren't looking and tries to chew something other than his chew toys.br /
Beware Innotek December 6, 2005 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
Innotek tells me that Amazon is not one of their authorized dealers, so they will not honor any warranty. I bought one of their collars and it stopped working after two months. No warranty service if you don't buy from one of their authorized dealers.
