good doggie July 19, 2008 Product is great; works just like advertised. Amazon's processing and delivery were fast, and I saved a good deal on the price (almost bought same product from pet store @ over $50.00 more). Dogs are contained - I'm pleased. Thanks Amazon!
Dealing with a Pekingese galavantor January 12, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
My Pekingese was going to be confined to a kennel because the fence would not hold her. She is tiny and every time she took off for a few hours I was in a panic. She wanted to herd goats and chase chickens and just be a dog. She is trained to come, sit lay down and walks well on a leash but when she gets bored off she goes. The innotec underground fence worked but did take time to train her. When she hears a high tone she backs away from the noise, if she moves closer she gets a little vibration and she backs away again. She does not go into the shock zone.
This product no doubt saved our beloved dog March 4, 2007 9 out of 10 found this review helpful
We've had this product for about 3 years, and absolutely love it. We live on a fairly busy street, and even though we have a fenced in back yard, our schnauser always found a way to get out. We even tried a screw type of stake in the back yard however, within a month, he figured out how to unscrew it from the ground. After that, we used the same steel cable to attach him to the garage, he somehow snapped the cable!
It was when we went looking for him after the cable snap, that we saw him down the street, crossing the street directly in front of a car! Our hearts both jumped and we decided right then and there that since nothing else had worked, we were going to get an electric fence.
We went to our local Menards, and found the SD-2000. It was on sale, so we went ahead and got it. Now, don't let anyone fool you, putting this thing in is no easy chore. It took us a few days to bury the wire for it. However, once that hard work was out of the way, everything else has been great! In less than two weeks of following the instruction DVD, our 2 year old pup was completely trained! He hasn't tried to leave the yard since!
Without this product, we feel almost certain that we would have experienced the tragedy of finding our dog in the middle of our street. This is something that no pet owner ever wishes to face, and for that we say THANK YOU! to Innotek.
Inexpensive, Easy and Effecive February 22, 2007 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
The Innotek system was easy to install and is working like a charm. I have no experience with more expensive systems but I can't see why anyone with a small to average boundary need would ever need anything more than what this basic Innotek package provides. The kit also leaves nothing to be desired for installation. I am very happy with this product.
Good points and Pretty Bad Points November 8, 2006 3 out of 14 found this review helpful
We have one of these fences. It was good for establishing a boundary in our backyard and far away from the street that the dogs quickly learned to respect, but, then we built a real fence and disconnected this one. The problem was neighbors' free-roaming dogs coming into our yard.
The very worst thing about electronic fences is that, when you walk by others' homes where there are these invisible fences, the dogs come charging out to the boundary line. it scares you to death. You don't see the dog or know there's an invisible fence until you see or hear the dog come charging. Sometimes the dogs stop a few feet away, but sometimes they cross over the curb. These fences ought not be used in city settings.
