This thing is awesome! February 17, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This thing is great. I have a fox terrier, and she can work! If you launch this holding the head rather than a paw, it will go quite far, without much wear on your arm. It hovers well, and you can easily whip it right along the ground and it will curve around gently...as far as my dog is concerned it might as well be a rabbit. It also bounces surprisingly well on grass. That's right, on grass. Bounce tosses thrill my dog particularly and as it cuts up she pounces after it.br /br /However, what most impresses me about the squirrel is it's durability. Frisbees of any kind are too soft to stand up to more than an hour or so. The act of holding the frisbee in her mouth a hundred times simply destoys it. The squirrel is incredibly tough, and flies great after thousands of fetches. br /
Dog loves it January 30, 2008 Its really nice, a fun alternative to the frisbee. br /br /It throws like a frisbee, but is softer.br /br /Bottom line is that my dog (black lab) loves it and I would highly recommend it.
My dog is addicted and has learned the words... January 13, 2008 "That is an outside toy. Go get your inside frisbee." br /I love this frisbee for many reasons. br /1. It is easy to throw. You don't have to have great aim as it tends to go in the direction you hope it will go. You don't have to be strong as it floats through the air. br /2. The shape is dog-friendly. Because the edges sit off of the ground, it is easy to pick up. br /3. It is rugged. Even my tough chewer working diligently on it hasn't torn it apart. (Which amazes me so much that I let her chew just to see how long it will hold out.) br /4. It's cute. Come on...a flying squirrel frisbee? Some people were just having a blast while designing dog toys.
Tough enough for a Lab!! November 24, 2007 My husband purchased one of these on a clearance aisle and we "chuck"led thinking it wouldn't last long with our black lab. We were wrong! It's actually very durable and as long as we don't allow her to lay down and just chew on it, it can withstand her roughness. Her favorite thing is the flexibility it has after she's played with it for a little while. The fabric loses the "stiffness" it has when it's new and she loves to grab the inside fabric and shake it. There's something about it hitting her shoulders as she shakes it that she loves yet it's not so hard that it would ever hurt her. It is also durable enough to withstand her teeth when she catches it yet not like those tough plastic frisbees that make the teeth bleed. It is by far her favorite toy so I immediately went online and purchased a couple more. One stays in the house for frisbee down the hallway when it's too cold for "mom" to go outside and one is for playing outside when it's nice. She does manage to chew the rubber ends off and pull the rubber edged tubing out if left alone with it, so I'd recommend not leaving it out when it's not being used (just like any soft toy and a lab!!). It's also washing machine safe!
Good fun February 10, 2007 Our 9 month old Black Lab loves to go fetch this squirrel. She loves to catch in the air and it is so easy for her to pick up in her mouth compared to regular frisbees.
