Good product for cat lovers September 30, 2008 This product provides a very convenient way to perform one of the less enjoyable tasks while being a pet owner. We've used this product for many years and each one has lasted about 3-4 years.
A real lifesaver in a family of three cats August 13, 2008 I have used the Littermaid for 3+ years. We needed to finally purchase another one so we went with the Elite model which was a mistake. The area in our bedroom is too dark during the day so the nighttime sensor is always sensing it is dark thus not running the machine. Then when there was a light or we hit the run button, the machine failed to function as effective as this less expensive and older model. This LM500 is a real work horse for us with 3-4 cats, one of which is very particular about a clean box or she will go elsewhere. We actually got rid of the newer model after having to fight with it for 3 weeks and purchased this model again. This rake takes the items to the middle of the disposal box, not just to the leading edge like the elite model does. It has been a real help for us but you must use a good quality litter like Fresh Step etc or else it won't work. Don't know if you have the correct litter? Open it and pour some water in. Wait 10 minutes(the time your Littermaid would wait) and then see if it is clumped together. I would recommend this time and again! So would Molly, Yum Yum, and Sean
defective unit August 8, 2008 I ordered this product and when I received it, it was defective. The rake would not stop. I sent it back and received another one. It did the exact same thing. I have since returned this unit to Littermaid. I am waiting on a replacement unit. Obviously there is a problem with this particular lot of boxes. I hope the next one will work.
awful July 6, 2008 I purchased this product for my two cats. It worked for about 2 days then it started moving without anything in the box just back and forth back and forth, so I had to unplug it for a couple days. Then I pluged it back in and it worked for another 2 days and started to do the same thing. My advise is don't get this product get a cat box that works manual or electronic.
LitterMaid Self-Cleaning Automatic Litter Box, Sage and Cream June 24, 2008 Unless your an idiot & like wasting your money & the frustration of their so called tech support which advises you to get out tools & then they tell you how to dissemble this or that part to try & fix what is broke right out of the box, avoid at all cost,,,oh yea, did i mention what an extremely poor job it does?
