Product Description Non-light emitting heat source for all types of reptiles, amphibians, and plant terrariums. The Repticare Ceramic Infrared Heat Emitter can increase the inside air temperature of your terrarium a full 10 to 20 degrees (F) above the outside room temperature. This is especially important when keeping "high temperature" tropical-type reptiles like green iguanas, monitor lizards, tegus, boas, pythons, and other desert or tropical species requiring high temperatures. More importantly, the infrared heat given off by the emitter will warm the animal in your enclosure more efficiently than any other type of heating device. Heat emitters give off intense infrared heat, penetrating into the animals muscles, but emit no light--the perfect 24-hour heat source for all tropical and desert reptiles. 25,000 hour average life. Lasts up to five years--far longer than the competition! The flat-faced design (standard in the ceramic heat industry) is more efficient than conical designs--leaves less heat inside the emitter which would ultimately carbonize the element. Water-resistant, making it ideal for high-humidity terrariums. The only UL tested and approved ceramic heating device for reptile terrariums. UL/CUL listed. For use only in Zoo Med's Repti Porcelain Clamp Lamp. Instructions: Screw the Repticare Ceramic Infrared Heat Emitter into ZooMed's Repti Porcelain Clamp Lamp fixture. Clamp on to edge of terrarium over screen top and plug in. Keep out of reach of children. Use in clamp lamps oth

I have never received a working item, even now! January 24, 2008 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
I wish whole heartedly someone could help me resolve this issue. They are not even answering my calls or emails anymore- and I have never received a working ceramic heat emitter. I need it for an ill iguana.
GREAT heat source! December 12, 2007 The Zoo Med 150watt ceramic heat emitter--EMITTS HEAT! It is GREAT! If you are looking for a strong heat source, this is it! I enclosed my outdoor pond during the winter months, and this provides excellent heat for my pond critters.
Very Durable, Long Lasting, and Best Heater Type For Reptile August 10, 2005 6 out of 8 found this review helpful
I have two, a 100 and 250 watt. I must say, these heat emitters are one of the best quality heaters I've seen. They live up to their long life expectation and is durable to last until it has no life left in it. What makes infrared heat emitters so good, especially for coldblooded reptiles is the fact that it heats them from the inside out instead of just heating the outside. Heating the outside first is mainly good for warmblooded like us is because it reduces the heat lost through our body from our cooler surfaces. br /br /So the best kind of heat if you have a coldblooded animal like a lizard etc would be an infrared emitting device. Another good reason is that infrared doesn't release any light source. Some creatures are annoyed by the light.
