Product Description Workday mornings are a repetitive and harrowing transition from awakening, dressing, and travelling to work. Who has time to prepare a nutritious breakfast. So you end up picking it up at a deli, diner, or greasy take-out - sometimes waiting on line with all the others - and you're still running late. Back to Basics Egg and Muffin Toaster is an alternative.Need toast? You've got it. Want a poached or hard boiled egg? It's yours. And if you want them together in your favorite breakfast sandwich, the Egg&Muffin Toaster also warms your pre-cooked meat. Bingo...ready to eat in about four minutes. It's sort of the drive-thru breakfast without the drive. As a multi-function appliance, the Egg&Muffin Toaster expands the practical uses for this small electric by giving those with busy schedules more than just toast. The Egg&Muffin Toaster delivers in about four minutes a convenient and tasty morning meal that's both familiar and well liked. In addition to being a full-functioning toaster, the Egg&Muffin Toaster can simultaneously: 1) toast the bread, 2) cook an egg (poached or steam-scrambled), and 3) warm a pre-cooked slice of ham or sausage?or any combination of these three functions, in addition to boiling upto four eggs. The Egg&Muffin Toaster features wide toasting slots, an auto shut-off for individual toasting and poaching options, an easy-to-clean control touchpad, and light to dark toaster settings. It also includes a removable crumb tray for easy clean-up and cord storage. The toaster's ?Egg/Toast? function directs cooking of both items simultaneously to complete at the same time.

I'm ordering a second July 25, 2008 I am not a gourmet or a breakfast food addict and I never feel comfortable around toasters or toaster ovens but I am missing this little device, after it died on me a couple of weeks ago. We had one of these for the past couple of years and, somehow, it turned me into a toast eater. My wife used the egg thing from time to time too so, when it stopped toasting, I felt that I needed a replacement and I am buying one today.
On features: making eggs is moderately okay. I can't say much because I don't eat real eggs no more - cholesterol... you know? But it's good to know it's there and it doesn't bother anyone. The toast-making is easy and there is a nice knob that you can move from light to dark. I always select the darkest but my wife sets it somewhere in the middle. I don't know why. After a while, your toast pops up and you can eat it but if the slices are too small, it's sometimes hard to take them out and you better wait for a minute or you could burn your fingers.
What does this thing have better than a regular toaster, other than the egg-processing part? It's the shape, I guess. I like things that are black and round and have a few buttons on them and I don't like appliances with a lot of shiny chrome.
Did I mention that the one we bought a couple of years ago died on us? It did but... for $25... it's no big deal. I'm getting another one today and, if it lasts for 2 more years I'll be happy.
Not a Joke or Toy July 23, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This product defines my wife--she is a breakfast sandwich nut! I saw it and bought it knowing it probably did not work as well as the reviews indicated. I was wrong--it is not a toy or a piece of art--it really works. We are so very happy with it's functionality and performance and it is really attractive. We will buy another for our RV--my wife uses this appliance 4 or 5 times a week. I toasted bagels and it was excellent. So, just because it is pretty does not mean it is not a hard working kitchen appliance.
pretty nifty for a quick egg sandwich! July 18, 2008 You don't have to dirty a pan or pot to cook eggs. This gadget works well and quickly. Less cleanup. I'm very happy with the purchase.
Just another toaster July 12, 2008 I bought this item a few months ago after much searching and reading reviews. This one had received lots of good reviews and the price is fair. Having an egg poacher in one with a toaster is a great idea and a neat gagdet, but it does not work for me and my family. The first time I used the poacher, it took several reheatings to get it to cook to the way I like my egg. Then the egg was sticking to the little pan, now I go back to the old fashion way, just cook or fry it. The egg poacher portion to me is a waste of money, a regular toaster would of been a better choice. However, the toaster itself is great, the settings vary for muffins and toast, and are evenly toasted, so no complaints there. But after all now we just use it as a regular toaster and so it is not so special. Would prefer a regular toaster, even from the same brand, if I had to purchase a new one.
Great tool for a person w/disabilities July 5, 2008 My husband suffered a stroke a few years ago and I ordered this for him so that if I'm out of town he can easily cook himself an entire breakfast and have it all come out at the same time. I've also used it several times for hard boiling a few eggs at a time (via steam method) and we think this is a great "gimmick" for older folks as well as for use in a dorm or for people in a hurry to fix breakfast. PERFECT!
