Amazon.com Review Eliminate 99% of the lead and reduce chlorine, mercury, and sediment in drinking water with Brita's Magnum II Filtration Pitcher. Larger than the standard Brita pitcher, it holds up to 80 ounces of clean, filtered water. Just pop the filter cylinder in the white plastic water reservoir, fill with cold tap water, and in just minutes the pitcher's brimming with healthy, great tasting water. Each filter--one comes with the pitcher and you can order others--lasts for 40 gallons of water. As an added feature, a filter replacement indicator relays when it's time for a new one. The sleek, clear plastic pitcher sports an easy-grip handle, while the white plastic lid features two openings: one for filling the pitcher and one for pouring. --Marianne Painter

Win Win Pitcher September 30, 2008 Buying this pitcher was a "Win Win", No Brainer! We used to buy bottled water in plastic bottles and generated a whole lot of landfill material... not to mention the fuel used by trucks to get those bottles of water to the store... No more! The pitcher actually paid for itself in less then a month! We liked the pitcher soo much that this one is a gift for our Son who also purchased water in the bottles... he now is enjoying the same savings!
Great!! September 26, 2008 This Brita filter is better than I thought it would be. The water tastes PHENOMENAL! I didn't know water could taste sooo good. Recently, my town has decided to add Chlorine to the water, terrible idea. So, I got this Brita filter so I could continue to drink my 8 glasses a day without feeling sick to my stomach because of the Chlorine addition. The only downside to owning a Brita filter is that you must change the filter every 2 months, and that it does get very heavy after you fill up the pitcher. Otherwise, this is perfect, and a great addition to any kitchen.
Excellent value, well worth it. September 6, 2008 I live in Philadelphia where the water here is, well, not so great. It has a distinct 'taste' to it. I bought this pitcher after dealing with it for a year and me and my 3 roommates agree that this was one of the best investments we made for the apartment. We drink like fish and this pitcher eliminates the 'taste' from the tap water. What's nice about it is that since it is always in the fridge, we always have cold filtered water. Another benefit is how quickly it filters the water. After maybe 5 minutes after refilling the top with tap water, the pitcher is full again. A downside however is that when the water is being filtered and you try to use the pitcher, the top can come off because of the weight. This has only happened once though. All in all, a nice investment if you want clean tasting drinking water.
Great! August 23, 2008 First I'd like to say... if you can't lift a few quarts of water then do not buy a water pitcher.
This pitcher/filter works great! It does exactly as it claims... it filters the water.
Pro's to having a Brita filtering water pitcher: Clean, drinkable water. No more lugging cases of bottled water up to my apartment. No more being responsible for filling the landfills with plastic bottles. Saves money! Water pitcher + aluminum sports bottle = convience Less likely to get cancer. Cons: Have to turn on tap and fill pitcher.
Water tastes great! Pitcher needs some work. August 8, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I've had my Brita Deluxe pitcher for about a yea and I would not be without one again. It saves me from the time, expense, hassle and waste of buying bottled water (the water that comes out of my tap is almost undrinkable due to it's taste). However, I have had some problems with this model:
* Low capacity Even for a single guy I find that I am constantly refilling it
* Filter falls out When I tip it over all of the way the filter comes out and forces the lid off
* Carbon specks Not a big deal but the filters "leak" little black flecks of carbon into the water reserve and that bothers me for some reason
* Not dishwasher safe
* Filters are not cheap
I just ordered the larger "Ultramax" size and I think that I will like it better. I'm not worried about mold since I will go through a gallon or more in a day and I will wipe it after prior to refilling it.
