The price for the LG Shine data cable is 1/4 of OEM version and works well. Delivery was as promised, would buy again.

5 out of 5 stars Perfect   June 21, 2008

I bought this cable to use with my LG Shine CU720 with no regrets. I couldn't ask for more for such a low price!
When it came I was a bit freaked out though since the software it came with didn't support my phone. But with a quick prayer I plugged the phone in anyway and just like I hoped it installed its own software like any other USB device would. Finally someone has thought of this! It's nice to see that for once you don't have to buy "Phone tools" from the company at some exorbitant price just to use what you already own... But I digress.
Once you have your cable in hand you're ready to go! Just open the menu on your shine, go to settings, connection, and USB connection mode. From here you can choose to use your phone as a mass storage device, music sync'd MP3 player, or modem. A micro SD card is necessary to make full use of these features; but if/once you have one you can also start using the phone as a digital camera by saving photos to the card, jacking in a mass storage device, and just importing them from the phone! Easy as pie!
Overall a wonderful bargain to unlock all the potential your Shine holds, you really couldn't ask for more.

5 out of 5 stars Works great for my purposes   May 8, 2008

My cable came with software (even though the product description explicitly states that it does not come with software), but I did not install it. Without the software, the phone shows up as a USB Mass Storage Device, and that's all I need anyway.

The cable itself works great. It's a little stiff to plug into and unplug from your phone at first, but it seems to be loosening up (which is a good thing at the moment). An added bonus is that it will also charge your phone's battery as long as it's plugged in, which if anything, makes this a really cheap and convenient charger.
