I actually adore your attitude
(and your sense of humour)
You are an expert
markspersonphotographer. Shot to perfection. I love it.I think you are funny aswell.
My kind of humour.
There are so many dickhead admins around. I get kicked out of a group every couple of months…. care factor 0.
you should start a group to boycott that group.
307 is a lot of bird shots… you should be the expert not him.
I think this photo has really nice dof. the skull looks like it’s floating in space.
I have always likened photography to a hunt. The thrill of the chase.
I was invited to a group called the SuperfiCial Comments group by a contact who is fed up with all the ‘nice’ comments on the threads. He has that gorgeous cynical, FU sense of humour that brings a grin to my face when he lets fly. (Though the thread has been dominated by a woman with a thing for flatulence…go figure.)
Go Jase and Mugley
My funny bone is so close to the surface I get the feeling my work mates thinks I’m rather barmy! I find them a tad boring so we’re equal.
The eagle owl is just as gorgeous with feathers as without.

YOU must look at this.. Leechy has done it again! Then this one

Yes I’m at work, but the licence server is down..woo hoo.
I guess Nikon users don’t have a sense of humour.
Hmmm….. Rude admins make the whole Flickr experience disappointing. I’ve also had an experience with rude/arrogant admins lately.
Anyway, I was going to ask – did you use a tripod for these shots? I notice your shooting at f/2.0 and ISO 400, but I know how dark museums can be. So was just curious? Hope you can shed some light on the matter. (Okay, bad pun)….
I wonder what you have to shoot birds with to make everything come off like that…never happens when I shoot a bird
Wow, nice capture!
Maybe the "Nikon D300 Users" group’s admin could start a voting competition for the rudest / humourless admin with other such groups – I could name a few
Perhaps it was shot with a Canon, oops, I meant cannon.
Sometimes people take themselves far too seriously.
You don’t need them anyway.
Nice bird.
I guess Nikon users don’t have a sense of humour.
I shoot with a Nikon…..
good thing he hasn’t seen what you’ve done to those endangered wheelie bins. tell me, do you shoot those or are they on a catch and release program?
Cheers all.
@ Trace – those are gold for straylya!
@ Adam – he wasn’t exactly rude, just a cranky old bugger in need of a transplant of whatever organ it is that releases fun into the bloodstream. This series is all handheld, can’t be stuffed lugging a pod around a museum.
@ AlistairKiwi and Broken Toy Shop – it’s not all Nikon users that don’t have a sense of humour, just the ones who spent too much on a D300 and feel like tools because their photos still stink of arse. Praise Jebus I bought mine with someone else’s money
Can I have some of their monies?
Sometimes I just want to say to people, live a little, explore those boundaries that you and society, a non extistent entity, place on you…and that my dear goes for film users who abuse digital
>. Especially when they haven’t explored it’s potential to its fullest.
Yes I’m feeling agrumentative about something I read in MS Inc, but I’ll just scream here
. It’s nice and safe within a high quality digital photograph LOL. Beauty, in whatever form you are looking for or call beauty, can be found in both film AND Digital formats.
When a digital newbie asks me about cameras, the first question I ask is: What do you want to shot with it? The second. Is there a chance you will make it into a serious hobbie. Then I direct them to the Sony shop down the road
I really must do more research on which cheapie though. For some of us to get a quality DSLR someone had to either die or they won the camera or the money to buy it!
To quote the late, great Ansel Adams – You can make magic with a pinhole camera.
Mugs! – Good on ya! – Who wants to be apart of a group that doesn’t have a sense of humor.
You should get the subject of this photo to peck the admin’s eyes out. Then shoot them with whatever gear he recommends.
Good picture in any case!
Real gear is light and cost next to nothing
Yeah !
@Mugly: How foolish of those Nikon users – if I had the cash to throw at a D300 (or a 5D, yum!), I wouldn’t care that my photos stink of arse -> just as long as I looked good with the camera.
If it was looks only, then you’d need a big telephoto. Doesn’t matter that it only takes one type of shot and you can’t use the camera for anything else….
I thought your comment was darn funny, but then I know you a little better than Mr. Stick in his Arse admin guy! I agree about the groups that take themselves too seriously. I have reduced my groups to 21, all small and cozy and no trolls.
Your shot is awesome too!
Excellent photo, and a great sense of humor. Sounds like you don’t really need that group anyway. Keep your spirits up!
lol, some people need to get a sense of humour
Great shot BTW
I think this was all that was left after my KFC tonight.
That Colonel has killed a few birds in his time…
penguin or not what is it? I l0ve you’re photostream it’s awsome
cool work!
Is that the D200/D300 users’ group? (If it is. I’m also a member … but I have humor in abundance!)
I lurk there once in a while, whenever I would say, "Internet, take me to a club of arrogant men that prefer the financial side of art."
Of course they are always nice.
oh, and I love the bird.
