This product USED to be as good as the name brand Synovi G3 soft chews from DVM products, I tested the 2 side by side. However, when I reordered this Joint MaxTS softchews the manufacturer added SOY oil to the formulation (on the package label) but they did NOT update the ingredient list on this website! My German Shepherd is allergic to proteins in soy and has had diarrhea for months, and I have finally figured out why! My understanding is that most dogs have soy allergies. Also, many pet food manufacturers are sneaking soy bean oil into foods because it is a cheap, abundant product. So the good reviews here are old news about this product, and this new formulation is bad for dogs- even such a small amount of soy. Be very careful.
I have a 12 y.o. female lab who has had 3 operations on her hind legs (dislocated knees and torn cruciate ligament), and found out my 6 y.o. female lab has birth defects in her hind legs which cause her to favor her right side. They both had trouble going downstairs, and it was scary watching them. Vet recommended a competitor’s brand, and wanted WAAAY too much $$ for them at his office, so I searched and found these.
1. My dogs LOVE them! They think they’re treats.
2. I was gone for a week and my husband didn’t give them these supplements. When I came home, guess what? Yep – having stair issues again.
3. Started them up again and within 4 or 5 days, they’re both doing just fine again.
It says for large dogs y’need to give 3/day. I give them one at each meal, plus one before bed. I would never have believed that they really work if they hadn’t received any treats for a week. These things are the BOMB! Can’t rave about them enough!
We have a 12 year old Ridgeback with hip displasia. We were on Synovi G3′s for years and our dog was doing great without any mobility problems.
We switched to this product (Joint Max) via a coupon that came with the Synovi G3 brand and it’s been all downhill from there. We’re only halfway through the 240 count Joint Max, and our dog can barely get up.
Your mileage my vary, but for us, the G3 brand was much more effective. We’re switching back to it immediately.
It’s easy to tell if this product works. Without it, my senior golden retriever moans every time he stands up or lies down. Highly recommended!
Joint MAX TRIPLE Strength Soft Chews are great. My dog loves them, of which I am very happy, because they have more of the things his body/joints need at a price that fits my budget easier.
