Customer Review: Heartwarming realism
This story recounts the adventures of raising an orphaned porcupine. The text is accompanied by quaint, expressive pen and ink drawings, which wonderfully capture the essence of the story. The larger-sized softcover is an effective format for use in reading aloud to either an audience, or to an individual child (of any age). While the ending is bittersweet, it is not overly emotional, and deals well with the subject of allowing a wild animal to "choose" its destiny. I highly reccommend this enchanting book!
