Tumors in rodents are relatively uncommon, but they do sometimes occur. Are you sure it is a tumor. Who diagnosed it, and what part of the body is it on. They can be removed, depending on the size of the growth, and the locality, but can turn out to be costly to do this.
The word tumor actually means swelling. But the word is also used to denote abnormal tissue growth. Depending whether this growth is actually a tumor, or abscess, it is not always possible to distinguish between them at first sight. If it is a tumor, then it can be either malignant, or benign.
A malignant tumor is cancerous, possessing the ability to invade adjacent tissues and spread.
Benign tumors do not invade surrounding tissues, or metastasize (Spread from one part of the body to another). There are different types of tumors, some which may have different causes. But as I said before depending on what kind of tumor this is, and whether it is impairing the quality of his life. He may be able to live for quite some time.

thanx 4 your help. yeah it is a tumour coz the vet diagnosed it but they said they dunno whether its benign or malignent. they said they culd opperate for $150 but they said the majority of mice die under anesthetic. the tumour is on her back left leg - it started on the top hind part of her leg (sorta like the knee) and its grown to over her whole back left leg. she's still eating, drinking and is still very bright. its been 12 weeks this Tuesday since it first started.

Hello!!! Loz312
$150 that’s about right for this type of op.
After 12 weeks, this sound like benign tumor, he could live for some quite time depending on how fast this grows. If he is eating and drinking ok, then it is not giving him too much problem. Nobody can predict how long he may live, and I hope he spends many more months with you yet. He will let you know when it becomes too much for him.

Kind Regards.
Hammy.
Hope all turns out well for you and your mouse.
