Hamsters are relatively easy to take care of. Lots of gentle and careful handling, preferably while you sit on the floor as this will reduce the risk of serious injury to the hamster should it decide to jump from you. When handling, rub some of the hamsters bedding on your hands for scent transfer and gently cup your hands around and under the hamster before lifting it up.
Do not feed your hamster through the bars of the cage as this will encourage it to bite any finger that may want to give a little stroke.
Remove any excess food that it may store in its bedding etc daily. Provide it with lots of things to nibble on such as wood toys, gnaw sticks and mineral stones. This will help reduce the risk of any problems with its teeth.
Hope that helps a little xxx
