Default Im 12 years old And I want to buy a snake and I can take care of it on my

own, but there is a problem: MY MOM? My mom wont let me get a snake even though I can take care of it on my own but SHE DOES NOT LIKE SNAKE. do you think that that is a good reason for me not to get a snake. Because I don'twhell it is a corn snake and the most kind snakes in the world and they wont bite unless if you attack it. they are big but easy to take care of. Also my friend has 3 corn snakes and she is 12 also

Well, if its a Non poisonus snake and you keep it under proper care and keep it in a cage where it couldnt get out than yes you should get one. Heh, my dad hates snakes too and i've always wanted a garder snake. and he goes "no" every time

To be honest with ya, naw, you should be able to get a snake, but keep it in your room and don't ever take it out to another room to show your mom or else you would lose it for good.

I think that right now, mom knows best. She will get you one when she believes that you are ready for one. Believe me she knows. I was 18 and wanted to move out, and my mom told me I was not ready, and 10 months later I was the mom telling my daughter I should have listened to my mom. Good Luck with that kid, and watch out for crazy's I am scared for kids on the website.

I'm afraid it's her house and if she doesn't want to share it with a snake, that's a choice she gets to make.Besides, snakes are amazingly good at escaping. I've known many people (all adults) with pet snakes and they've all had times when the snake just vanished - sometimes for weeks - and showed up who knows where.

and would you really feed it live fish or frozen mice everyday? Most mom's don't like dead frozen mice in their microwave. :P try asking for a different reptile, I suggest bearded dragons if it's going to be your first reptile. BUT, if you really want a snake, you have to prove to your mom that you are responsible enough. try taking care of other pets if you have any, or just help with more chores, basically suck up. But if nothing works, you can always get one in college and come back to visit your mom with it! hehe surprise...!

Let's put it this way......I'm a Mom, and my kids have had every kind of pet known to man but no snakes. I hate snakes and the thought of one in my house terrifies me.Accept it and find another pet she will accept. If she has a fear of snakes, you're just beating your head into a wall by asking for it.
