maybe you should gave it a little sun light. Put it outside(inside the cage and not outside of your house/front yard) choose backyard^^

i am hoping that if you are taking care of a snake, that you know atleast what they should eat?? Boas are just like any other snake, they dont really have to DO anything to be well cared for. Socialization is important, especially since boas get large. So frequent handling is best for everyone. It is better to keep it in the cage UNLESS snake is being closely supervised. I dont agree with letting a snake of any size roam free outside of the cage. They like to eat mice, frozen mice are best. Frozen mice bought from pet stores are parasite free and wont be able to bite a snake like the live ones will. Depending on the size of the snake, a small rat would probably be sufficient for a smaller or growing boa. They need to eat once a week when young, then spread feedings to once every two weeks once they are adults. Hope this will help..

I used to own a python. You can feed them live or dead mice, its your choice though live is much more entertaining because you actually get to see it strike and constrict the mouse. Never leave a live mouse inside the cage with an unhungry snake or it will hurt the snake believe it or not. We made the mistake of doing that and found the aquarium covered with blood the next morning though the snake was still alive. Don't let the snake out unsupervised or they will find some dark warm corner to hide in and be hard to find or extract. Other than that, they are very low maintenance.

The owner should have told you when was the last time the snake ate. Feeding depends on the size of the snake. Call the owner and find out. Otherwise, you may buy a rat fro him and if hes not hungry you may end up having to feed a rat and/or have a rat start nibbling on the snake. Again, snakes will not eat if they are not hungry, even if the food is in front of his face.......Fresh water is a start. Handle him daily, they don't play. If letting him out of the cage you MUST keep an eye on him, they tend to find small places and wrap themselves up and you will have a very hard time pulling them out from below a sink or from inside a recliner etc.
