Default Help! I am taking some small turtles into care for from people that have rotten

little kids that don't care... They are the little turtles that you normally get in a pet store.. any personal experience and advice is welcome.. I don't want to accidentally mistreat them. Do they require warm water? I am planning on getting a tank with lights etc.. but personal experience is what I am looking for. Thanks

all you need to do is keep them on a little pool with clean and fresh water, remember they can't be underwater all the time, so get a big smooth river stone for them to lay and chill in the sun and put them outside for a while every day so they won't freeze ha ha (no for real, they need heat cuz they're cold blooded), and feed them at regular times, don't touch them all the time to avoid bacteria and all and change their water every once in a while... after that you can upgrade to a big aquarium with plants, lights and all... good luck!

from personal exp., feed them romano lettuce, collard, and/or mustard greens. depending on how big it is you can feed them meal worms once a day, once every other day. have part of the tank filled with water/the other half with sand or something like astroturf. you could just have a fish tank filled near the top with water and a log or some kind of island in the middle. for the lamp you could just use a 40 watt bulb instead of a fancy heating lamp. anyway i could go on and on, if you need anymore help email at devinjohnson@earthlink.net
