Thumbs down Mosquito problem

Hello all,
I have two questions that i can not find an answer to. I have two male rabbits, one is a mini rex he is 7 years old my question about him is every once in a while he decides not to clean his backside and his night feces builds up after a day or two and i have to bring him in to clean him off. Does anyone know why he would be doing this other then him just liking me give him a bath? my other question is about my two year old newzeland white rabbit. My bunnies live outside because they did not seem happy inside.they would bite and attach me and once i put them outside their whole personality changed.Well Tank( my two year old) is being bitten by mosquitos, Is there anything i can put on him or his cage like skin so soft or something else, so they would not bite him causing him to scratch his back all the time?
thanks for your time
jenny

Yeah i took my older one to the vet when it first started with the stool build up and they said they have never seen or herd of a rabbit doing that and they told me to just clip the area and just keep washing him, So i have been doin that i was just woundering if anyone else has dealt with that issue.
As for my other bunny, i know its mosquitos,I have done the skin scrapings myself and looked at it under microscope since i am a vet tech. I dont know why they go for his back but they do, dang things are like vampires over here in NJ they have been getting worse every year.Infact they bit us through our jeans NO JOKE either. But i will try the Mosquito nets that sounds like a good idea unless someone else can come up with something else. Thanks for the reply

yeah most vets around here are for dogs and cats, there are very few that do exotics, small animals, and farm animals. Maybe i will try the plucking. Like i said all i have been doing is trimming it down which works for a week or two then i have to repeat it all over again. I swear my boy just likes me giving him a bath LOL. I keep an eye on the maggot situation.Once i see or think flies have been bothering him he gets put in the TUB. Dont want that stuff happening. I have had rabbits in the past and these two that i got now are the only ones that have health issues. I understand wht my New Zeland White has issues i adopted him from college he was a Lab bunny but my rex, I bought him at a 4H fair which i LOVE. I wanted to thank you for all your information too.you have given me good advice.
