Default I found a baby rabbit and I'm wondering how I should take care of it....

...So...what do I do?!? It's really little, and it sits in one area for a LONG time, and I never see it close it's eyes. What should I do so it won't die?By the way...I named it Thumper, my brother named it "Pimpboy". Which name do you like better? (We don't know its gender...)

It'll die. Only 10% of wild baby rabbits survive and it's extremely hard to keep them in captivity. You should have left it. I raised a litter of 7 baby rabbits that were going to be landscaped otherwise... and 2 survived. We released them last Friday. I've had lots of experience raising them though.

Thumper seems more appropriate! Haha. Pimpboy? What is he (or she) pimping... carrots? Kidding... onto serious matters... =)I once, too, found a baby rabbit on the side of the road. I took it home (probably not the smartest thing). I gave it water through a syringe, but the poor thing wouldn't eat anything I gave it (tried lettuce, carrots, fresh green beans). Unfortunately, it died within 2 days. I think baby rabbits need their mother, and it was probably abandoned due to a human possibly touching it (it lost it's mother scent somehow in general and the mother rejected it), or by accident. I hope you didn't remove it from it's nest!If you're determined to keep the bunny alive, call your local vet and see if maybe you can bring it in... see if there is something you should do to keep it nourished. That is the best advice possible. Good luck!

Wild mother rabbits do not stay with their babies. They only return a few times a day to nurse. The best thing to do is leave the baby where you found it unless you're absolutely sure the mother is dead. Wild rabbits become extremely stressed when kept in captivity so trying to "save" the bunny can cause more harm than good.

you should call your local wildlife agency, or the local vet. while rabbits can be domesticated, you should have the bunny checked out to make sure it doesn't have any parasites, and the vet should be able to help you figure out what to feed it. Thumper is better than pimpboy, but you should try to think of something more original and suited to your particular rabbit. i don't think rabbits bite, but they will scratch you (they stand on their hind feet and "box" you) if they feel threatened.

Awwww. Baby rabbits are soooo cute!I wonder where the mother is. Are there cats in your neighborhood? Cats have been known to attack and kill nesting rabbits.I'd suggest calling the local animal shelter and asking them for advice. Also, please don't pick up the baby, as your scent may cause the mother to reject her offspring.Good luck hun.
