Default What pet is easy to take care of and doesn't sleep all day?

My nine year old wants a pet of his own that is not a dog, cat, ferret, hamster (or other rodent), fish, bird, lizard, snake or hermit crab. Is there any thing else? Thanks!

Then what does he want??? No! You will have to stray into the exotic animal department, and they are not suitable for young children, nor are they easy to take care of. They are not necessarily legal either.

frog are fantastic i had some when I was about 8. I raised them form tadpoles and kept them in my room. They eat dried lettuce or fish food flakes and are very easy to take care of. They are fun to watch swim but you should get a couple cause they tend to die. Get about 7-9 and you'll get 3-4 frogs. When they get legs move them into a tank with a lid to keep them from hopping away cause they will be frogs soon and might get out of the tank and go aroung in the room they're in.

Time to tech your child he doesn't always get what he wants. If he has all these demands tell him he can think up something. Or get him an ant farm.
