Default Uncontrollable Shedding

I have six year old pug, who on a normal day sheds more than most dogs. Unfortunately for the last week or so, I've noticed that his shedding has gotten alot worse. I can litterally pull his fur out in bunches. He even has a few little spots where fur is pretty scarce now. I haven't changed his diet. He's been on IAMs now for a while and other than his shedding, he still seems to be the same. He's eating and drinking fine. Any thoughts of how concerned I should be?

Excessive shedding can be caused by a protein deficiency. I would try adding some fresh meat or changing to a higher meat protein food. The addition of salmon oil would be beneficial as well.

Default Excessive Shedding

Excessive shedding should always be a concern. While dogs normally lose their coats twice a year, excessive shedding could indicate a much larger problem. Start with food and nutrients.
