You can go to school and become an animal care technician or an animal nurse.

Work for a veterinarian. I did in high school, and you learn a whole lot while getting paid. Plus, seeing live puppies from a C-section is the best.

Their are alot of options depending on your age. If you want to work specificly with dogs, which kinda sounds more like what you want, I wound NOT suggest working for a pet store that sells dogs... They all come from puppy mills and the conditions you see them in is horrifying. I am speaking from experience!!! You can volunteer at any local shelter and after a while they will most likely give you a pain position. Or, You can go to a tech college, again, depending on age like I did, and become a veterinary technician. You can then be hired at any veterinary hospital and know you are helping animals. Some veterinary hospitals will hire people that have not gone to school, but they wont get paid very well and will most likely get stuck cleaning kennels or doing paper work. Hope this helps

When you're sixteen, most vet clinics or boarding kennels will take you on as kennel staff. However, a vet is often an emotionally stressful job. Although it is rewarding, and I'd never take back a second of it, you will see upsetting things. Kennel duties include cleaning up messes from sick and messy dogs, so hopefully you're not queasy about that. Also, you may have to assist doctors or techs in surgeries or treatments, so think about whether or not you can handle that.At a regular boarding kennel [no vet clinic], the cleaning duties are the same, but you won't have to deal with the surgery/treatment aspect and emotional strain. If you like grooming, I'd suggest finding a local groomer and asking to be a grooming assistant. Many groomers work alone, though, so this would be harder.Volunteering is also a good option. Shelters, ASPCA, animal rescues. But this can also be emotionally stressful. Of course, it is very rewarding and worth it.Just warning about some things cause I've seen people who couldn't handle these things get very upset and I'd hate for that to happen to you. =]Good luck with everything, I hope you find something fun and worthwhile!*edit*I agree.Don't work at a pet store.

There are grooming classes, take some and start a grooming business. Or be a dog walker, place ads in the paper. Go to school and get trained to be a Vet assistant or a vet technician. Be aware that once these jobs are filled, it is oftentimes hard to find positions available. You can work at an animal rescue, a zoo(with lots of schooling)a marine park or aquarium. Most jobs involving animals, require at minimum an Associates degree. If you want to work in a pet store, no special skills are needed, they basically train you on the job, for minimum pay.
