Default Towards a Healthy Brain

The University of Texas at Dallas Center for BrainHealth is a cutting-edge facility with a unique mission. Its mission is to unite brain research and brain therapies in an active partnership to build healthy minds and restore health to injured and diseased minds. The Center has found many unique approaches uncover commonalities in brain repair. One such approach is the Horizontal approach, which incorporates the following components:

• The Multidimensional Diagnosis, which involves specialized cognitive assessment of functions such as Abstracting connected language, Processing information at word, sentence and text level, Assessing different forms and complexity of memory function, executive function, verbal and non- verbal reasoning.
• Groundbreaking Cognitive Interventions involving programs across groups such as attention deficit disorder, healthy aging, stroke, dementia, brain injury, and autism.
• Multimodality Functional Brain Imaging (EEG, fMRI, rTMS) which uses latest technology to measure baseline brain function and reconnection of brain networks after treatment.
• Brain Biomarkers are the markers that impact onset, progression, and recovery of brain disease including genes, hormones and neurotransmitters.

The mission of the UT Dallas Center for BrainHealth is to protect and heal the brain. The Center is ably assisted in its mission by its revered board of directors. The foundation’s board of directors comprises of a Leadership Council and an Advisory Board. The Leadership Council includes Sallie and Frederic Asche, Jr.Claudia and Dennis Berman, Toni and Norman Brinker, Dianne Cash, Theresa and David Disiere, Patsy Donors, John Harbin, Matrice Ellis-Kirk, among others as its members.
