Customer Review: Musicians who cannot sing, singing
I was a huge ASMZ fan before seeing them live for the first time for their tour for "Horses". The only good song they did was "Take These Hands..." but every song from this album was terrible. I bought the CD anyway, thinking it might sound better mixed in a studio. No. It's horrible. I didn't enjoy one song, and they all consist of the same whiny nonsense vocals. There is nothing good I can say. The worst part is, after hearing this, I can't listen to their old stuff the same way. By far the worst collection of tracks to come from these guys.

I do not understand how some can be so quick to judge this album. The very first track is one of the best they've recorded / one of the best I have ever heard, and it definitely would not be the same without efriam's beautifully crafted lyricism. I do not think the lyrics are whining at all, but if one was to use such terminology, I would think they are only so whining as the other instruments used to create this orchestral brilliance. & how could you possibly say Canada is not an oppressive country? Just because America isn't quite Nazi Germany that doesn't mean America is not oppressive, & just because Canada is not quite America, that doesn't mean it is not oppressive. But to get back on track, this is a wonderful album! & if you ever have a chance to go to one of their shows, you should definitely take it up. I couldn't move out of sheer awe.
