Fish can normally fend for themselves. If you have rocks and things in your tank, the babies will hide out there untill big enough to not be eaten.

The mother fish will be fine. No special treatment. Many babies need to be seperated. You can buy such at Wal-Mart.

What kind of fish is it? You just feed it regular fish food if it's in an aquarium. We had baby guppies (live-bearers) and 15 out of 18 survived. We just treated them like adult fish though we ground up the food a bit more. Good luck.

Provide excellent water conditions, frequent water changes, don't over-feed,lots of plants in the tank(provide resting places),high ratio of females to males.
