they sell puffer fish at some petsmarts. they're not REALLY puffer fish; just small round fish. they're really cute; mine lived for about 4 months which is a really long time for a fish xD

Bettas are pretty, almost impossible to kill and extremely low-maintenance. also only need a small bowl, no large tank or heater, etc necesary. Do not put more than one in the same tank though. Good luck!

Dannios are easy to care for and can live through lots of stuff. Check yahoo for tank cycling and make sure you have gotten that part right in your tank before adding a fish.Or just get a Betta

Definitely a betta fish. Males can be bought at Wal-Mart for less than 4 bucks. All you need is a fishbowl, some water conditioner, and some food. You don't even need gravel, although it does make the bowl look more attractive. Bettas are smart fish and great little companions, my favorite of all fish. They don't need a bubbler or a filter, so things aren't complicated. A great betta site for care and other info is www.bettatalk.com. Check it out!
