firstly,- always if u bring a new fish quarantine it i.e..keep it in a seperate bowl for a week to check whether its free of deseases before introducing them into a community tank...and if u dont do it ur old fishes may catch that desease which ur new fish was having.-feed the fishes max. twice a day intervally.Do not feed it much it will get sick,-clean the tank once a week(if small).introduce sucker fishes it will do ur cleaning task and filters.i think it will suffice ur needs,,for more details....http://www.aquariumfish.com/aquarium...fish/home.aspx

First, you put it in an aquarium(a fish tank) and feed it. Feed it every day about 3 times. Feed it fish food from a pet store. Add some pebbles and plants and maybe even some fish toys to keep your fish happy. To clean the tank, take your fish out with a net and put it in the sink filled with water. Then take your fish tank and dump out the water (and other things). After that scrub the tank with a sponge until you think it's clean enough. Then fill up your tank again and put all the other stuff into the tank. Then finally put your fish back into the tank. You should clean the tank every 2 weeks or so. If you don't want so much trouble to clean the tank then also get a garbage fish. A garbage fish cleans the tank for you so you don't have to do it.

My question is what kind of fish? Your tank should have been up and running prior to purchasing your fish.A beta that is living in a bowl will be fine. You will need to feed your fish and do water changes. you also need to buy a dechlor/water conditioner for your water. What kind of fish is it? And where are you keeping it now?

Without knowing what it is, no one can tell you anything other than:Put it in a ? size tank with a ? size filter.Dechlorinate the water.Get a heater and thermometer to maintain water temperature between 75 and 80 degrees.Do a 25% water change every 3 weeks or so.Feed it a little bit of ? once a day. There may be more things that are crucial for the fish you have, but I can't help you because I don't know what it is.

I'd get a book if I were you. There is way too much to put on this forum, and you didn't give anyone enough info about what fish you have to tell you. Get a book on general fish keeping and one for your paricular species. Its a hobby that you have to have a little know how to do, its more complicated than just putting the fish into the water.
