What sort of aquarium do you have it in? The smallest I recommend for pet quality bettas is one gallon. This is what I house my bettas in.As for food, bettas much prefer pellets over flakes, but prefer bloodworms over both. I feed my bettas HBH Betta Bites 3 days of the week and Tetra freeze dried bloodworms 3 days of the week. You should skip atleast one day of the week to allow their digestive systems to rest.As far as products go, I would keep a bottle of Melafix handy. It's made by Aquarium Pharmaceuticals, and comes in a blue bottle. You can't miss it, it's sold at any Petco. This comes in handy for any random illnesses that might crop up due to an unexpected change in water conditions, such as fin and tail rot. Also, I would purchase some *AQUARIUM* salt, NOT table salt. I recommend the salt made by Dr. Wellfish, and it comes in a milk carton. All you have to do is some simple math to determine the right dosage for your size of aquarium. For cleaning out your tank, a simple hand rag will do.
