Thats not good, flys will lay eggs in the ear and you will have more serious problems. I would see a Vet ASP, and not let the dog out without supervision. Hope this is not an outdoor dog chained to a post. There should be a medication to sooth & heal the ears and keep off the flys. Act promptly!

Thanks 4 that. Yeah, my other dog keeps biting his ears. We were at the vet just last week for vaccinations and we asked them about the ears and they didn't say anything.

I would call the vet's office and ask if they have something to help heal the bites, I would not be surprised if they say neosporin plus pain relief, or antibiotic cream for us people. Thats what I would use on my dogs. If the vet ask you to come in then they are trying to make more money by adding examination cost, which is not fair since you were in the recently for a visit. If they do find, an other vet! you are going to have to teach the other dog to leave the ears alone, I Know Easier said then done! Thats the fun of owning a dog!

Hey, there's a spray I bought at the local feed store. It's for horses, but it works on dogs, too. It's kind of an oil that you spray on and rub in with a rag. Neosporin for the sores already there. Someone also told me once that if you take some Vicks vapor rub and rub it on their fur, that helps repel them too.
