Have a box ready for your female to give birth in. It should be big enough for her lie on her side not up against the walls of it. Have something soft like old towels or old sheets. You will need to have to replace them once she finishes delivering her puppies. When she starts labor put her in the box. Unless the puppies are too big there probably isn't a whole lot for you to do during the delivery. Just watch her and let her do her thing. You could help her remove the water sack from the puppy and make sure it has started to breath. I would advise you to cut the placenta an inch to inch and a half and not let the mother chew it off..... sometimes they get it too short.I've had quite a few rat terriers, use to breed them, none ever had any whelping problems. She'll want to like them and that is ok. Between births put the puppie up to nipple to start nursing.

Do you read the responses given to people, when they are breeding dogs, when it is obvious they are stupid like you are? Honey, you will get crucified, deservedly so, but still crucified. The people here can be really mean to people, especially the back yard breeders who add to pet overpopulation then seem to brag about it on Yahoo Answers. You might want to get ready.Oh, BTW, responsible breeders would NOT offer their puppies to people on a Yahoo answers forum.

Since you don't have a clue about breeding why is your dog pregnant? Why isn't your dog spayed? Why are you contributing to the already overpopulation of dogs? Do you realize how many dogs are being KILLED in shelters everyday because of people like you. Too many dogs, not enough homes. I rescue dogs. I pick up the pieces because of irresponsible people like you. SPAY YOUR DOG!

Most likely your dog will pick a different spot from the one that you had intended. I suggest if it is indoors to just be ready and let her do her thing. Taking care of the puppies should be second nature to her. If she licks them soon after they are delivered then everything should be ok. After a week or two you will want to have some solid food available for them. Don't worry about when they start eating. Momma dog will take care of that too.

Ok I dont know if you meant this to happen or if this was an accident but Im not going to criticize, because things sometimes happen. First off get your male dog neutered to prevent this from happening again and after a significant amount of time, when the pups are weaned, get the female spayed. Another thing I know you mean but do NOT advertise puppies on yahoo answers. Place an ad in your local paper and actually talk to the people that call asking for puppies. Do not go on a first come first serve basis, you wouldnt want a puppy going to the wrong family. Ok now for the big event, you have 63 days to prepare, give or take. In that time take your dog to the vet get her checked out, and talk to your vet tell them this is your first litter and youre unsure of what to do. They more than likely will give you a very detailed explanation. At this time start setting aside some money for an emergceny c-section, small dogs have lots of complications during labor and you could end up losing both mother and pups so make sure you have money and a vets number at hand. Also ask some dog savvy friends to come and help with the labor, youll need lots of hands to help dry off pups. Prepare a box with a shelf in it and lots of newspaper the shelf is to keep momma from rolling on the pups. When you dog starts going into labor she will start panting tearing at the newspaper and acting kinda weird. After she settles down she will know what to do but it is good to have towels and the phone by just incase. After the birth the mother will have to go outside immediately to relieve herself so you may want to set the box where she can easily get out of door. This is just the basics check out this informative website and again I cannot stress enough talk to your vet!http://www.westwoodlabradoodles.com/...ngpuppies.html
