Default Dog Health Problems?

My dog cross between a border collie and a lurcher who is 8years old and normally very active has been very tired the past few days and not doing muchI went out with him today and threw him a ball however he would not go down the step in the garden and just sat looking at me, i then threw it up to see if he would go after it when there was no step and he half ran towards it then sat down and then lay down.He started shaking, like having spasms and wouldn't go up the step to get back in the house so i carried him in and laid him down, he has been moving somewhat and tries to get up when i go to him and gives me his paw.He doesn't seem to be in any noticable pain, he isn't whimpering but his breathing is quite heavy and he starts shaking whenever someones goes close to him.We are taking him to the vet when it opens in an hour but i would appreciate any help here and does it sound like a serious problem, thanks. Thanks for most of the answers.I went to the vet and he has pulled a muscle in his right legThe shaking etc was him being in shock as it just seemed to happen at that timeThe vet said it was probably the unusually high temperatures we have been having here combined with his thick coat that have made him lethargic the past few daysOh and i feed him 1 and a half tins of dog food and half a cup of dog mixer each day, he gets no human food except for cooked vegetables one day a week on a Sunday and I'm not interested in buying any pet food online off any website thanks

Here's a couple of websites you can check out. They should point you in the right direction when at the vet's office. Good luck, hope it helps.

Sounds like possible seizures. I once had a mini dachshund who acted similarly. If that is the case your vet will give you pills for him and explain it all to you.

One question I like to ask you. What foods did you feed your dog?
