The one that comes from a responsible breeder who does genetic testing.

No, I am giving you a straight answer. All breeds are susceptible to genetic health problems. Good breeders work to eliminate them through testing.

Based purely on popularity, I'd have to go with the Border Terrier, because they aren't very common in the USA, which means that most of the people breeding them are devoted to the breed -- as opposed to something like the Labrador, #1 in registrations and the darling of the animal shelter.

What's important here is where you get your dog from. Decide which breed works best for you, and then find a responsible breeder.

a cross or mix is usually pretty healthy because of natural selection...so I have heard!
