Default Can anyone tell me how much a dog costs to take care of?

I am hoping to get a large breed dog from a shelter, just wondering how much it will cost me to feed and insure and groom and stuff. Thanks.

If you are worrying about the cost then I woudn't bother getting a dog in the first place.

my large breed dog costs around £15-00 a week, the cost covers food, walks (petrol) and any vetting bills for worming tablets and anti flea medicene. check that the dog is in good health first though or you might have to end up paying 100's to treat it.

how long is a piece of string? depends on what you feed it, if it ever gets sick or injured, if you have to have it groomed....if you really really wanted a dog you wouldn't care about the cost. it's worth every penny tho if you do.

well food costs betwwn 40£-50£ a month (hills)flea treatment around 50£ for 6 months, worming around 14 pound every 2 weeks.to insure the dog depending who you insure with varies from 15£ - 50£ a month, (dont use E&L they are the worst insurers) yearly boosters 50quid and 30 every 6 months for intra(kennel cough vacc) now with the food ect ive roughly estimated for a great dane, so could be less, you do need to ask yourself a few questions, a) have i room where i live b) will the dog get the excise it needs??good luck with your new addition to your family
