Default need advice on cat seizures

My cat has been having seizures. She convulses, foams at the mouth, has dilated pupils, her whole body tenses up, claws come out, then she lays motionless for a minute or two. After, she is happy to see us, rubbing our legs and such. She is also hungry. We spent over $400 at the vet. The complete blood work came back negative. All levels were good, no diseases, no dehydration, no weight loss. The vet also said this is not a seizure simply because there was no loss of bowel control. Sounds foolish. These are definately seizures. She has no physical or mental symptoms otherwise. It seems to happen now once every two weeks. It is always in the basement. We have an unfinished basement and it seems to happen in the same corner with exposed fiberglass. Also the same corner has her litter. She is always covered in fiberglass and dust after words. What is the trigger? Could it be fiberglass? Could it be litter, or a reaction to her own waste? We use natural wheat litter. Or would this happen anyway and she just goes down there to have the seizure like when cats hide when they are sick. My next idea is to ban her from the basement, and see if it still happens. Yesterday she had one and had three bloody claws after because she dug into something hard during the seizure. We are not home on weekdays so this may happen more than we think. Any ideas or similar stories will be appreciated.

Seizures are a very serious problem, and if your cat has suffered a seizure, whether a full blown grand-mal or a petite-mal, you should take him a veterinarian right away. A proper diagnosis can cost a lot and take some time, but this may be needed in order to figure out the cause, eliminate causes and/or find out the best treatment be it surgery or medication.

There is a difference between epilepsy and seizures. Seizures can range from unusual mood swings, sudden loss of balance, uncontrollable thrashing and loss of body control. Seizures are usually symptoms of a disease or physical problem which include infections, tumors, toxic chemicals, and brain damage. Generally cat seizures are not caused by epilepsy. Epilepsy is more a word for seizures for which no other cause has been found.
