Default Is having a cat bad for MY health?

My mom keeps telling me to get rid of my cat because she says that its bad for my health..I don't believe her though. Last time I went to the doctor I forgot to ask him about it. Do any of you guys know if this is true?

the only way a cat is bad for your health if you are allergic to the cat. other than that cats arent bad for your health. is your mom a cat lover? if not i think thats the reason why she doesnt want u to have one.

If cats were bad for your health, we wouldn't have them as pets. You do have to be careful about things like toxoplasmosis if you are pregnant, but in general there is no way that a cat can be bad for your health.

Unless you're allergic to cat dander, you're o.k.Actually, having a pet of any kind is a positive for your emotional well being.

Not true!People can be allergic to them, but that's easily fixed without getting rid of the cat. Also, if you ever get pregnant, get someone else to change/clean the litter box because pregnant women can get a disease from changing the litter. Or wear sterile gloves.
