I'm having a bird shipped. the breeder has taken her to vet and says that she is sending a health certificate. what is that? does it mean that she is healthy? The reason I ask is because I'm getting two babies at once. Not sure how to quarantine them because they are both so young and so big (triton cockatoo and greenwing macaw). What exactly does the health certificate mean? Since she was checked by a vet today and being sent on friday does she still need a vet check when she gets here?

A health certificate is a clean bill of health from a vet. Often needed to Ship an animal!!You only need to take them to the vet again if you do not trust the seller. Or if it is stated in the Health Guarantee

A health certificate is a document done by a vet. It needs to be done to prove she is heathly enough to make the trip and isn't going to be bringing in any diseases. She should not need anything check once she gets there unless she has some issues during shipping.

What a health certificate is has already been answered, but if the two birds do not come from the same breeder then I would still quarentine them for 30-60 days. It is better to be safe than sorry!
