I got my gerbil about a month ago. Well, actually, I had gotten two gerbils, but something horrible happened (involving the family dog and someone stupidly leaving my bedroom door open--when they shouldn't even have been in here), so now I only have one. When the dog got into my room, she completely destroyed his cage, and so he is now stuck in the carrier cage until I can get him a new tank (I'd been meaning to get him a tank, as it was, before the cage was destroyed.).
Well, I noticed, a few days ago, that he was missing a small, slightly circular patch of fur above his nose, no bigger than a plastic pinhead. Is this a sign of stress? Or is this something natural, that I may not have noticed before?
