The owner should have told you when was the last time the snake ate. Feeding depends on the size of the snake. Call the owner and find out. Otherwise, you may buy a rat fro him and if hes not hungry you may end up having to feed a rat and/or have a rat start nibbling on the snake. Again, snakes will not eat if they are not hungry, even if the food is in front of his face.......Fresh water is a start. Handle him daily, they don't play. If letting him out of the cage you MUST keep an eye on him, they tend to find small places and wrap themselves up and you will have a very hard time pulling them out from below a sink or from inside a recliner etc.
