Tetra means four, so you should have them in groups of at least four. You should have at least a ten gallon, but a five gallon might work if you pay very close attention. Thats only for small tetras, rummynoses and such need larger tanks. You will want to cycle the tank, moniter water params(with a liquid test kit) and do weekly water changes of about 25 percent. You will want to rinse the filter in the old tank water every week also, but do not rinse it hard this will get rid of the good bacteria.
