There's no need for extra tablets. The recommended amount will do the job just fine. Any extra chlorine/ammonia etc will be taken care of in time with the filter and other biological processes that go on. It's not worth the risk to add too many extra chemicals. Remember too much of a good thing can be bad. Best wishes to you.
