Typically every 6-8 weeks to keep them healthy and in good condition. I have never heard of anyone ever trimming their horses feet only twice a year so I am quite unsure about that one. If you horseshow like me, you are going to want them done 6-8 weeks though so they don't start cracking. Also a farrier can let you know if there is anything to be concerned about with your horses hooves such as thrush or abscesses so it is a good check-up as well.
